The Bench Crafting Story

Bench Crafting is a small home furnishings company that believes quality can be achieved alongside sustainability.  By putting in the extra work to find, clean, and re-mill lumber destined for a landfill, Bench Crafting works hard to create beautiful custom pieces while minimizing waste.

We do realize that sometimes trees need to be harvested or removed for a variety of natural reasons.  Because of this fact, Bench Crafting works in association with local landscapers and tree removal companies. Through them, we are able to source some fantastic species of American hardwood already destined to be chipped or thrown to the curb. After air drying these trees, we transform them into wonderfully useful furnishings.

The wood Bench Crafting uses already has a life baked into its grain.  We believe in giving that story a new chapter.
